We have found that people are often frustrated by trying to find the right “man” for the job, frustrated by trying to find the right materials for their project, frustrated by not even knowing where to start.
The Smart! Book started as a personal inspiration. I worked for many years as a commercial interior designer and after struggling with contractors and services that don’t complete the job, don’t show up, or charge too much, and after talking to many friends who had similar frustrating, even disasterous experiences, I began to consider how the situation could be improved.
What I discovered is...we need more information! How can we make an educated decision by looking through the yellow pages? We can’t. The key is to have one place to find out more about the services and materials you need, to see pictures of their work if applicable, read customer comments and ratings and even e-mail them for a bid. Our goal at The Smart! Book is to take the fear and frustration out of your home improvement or building project - to match the best services and materials with your job.
